Welcome to the Newfoundland Club health database site.

We have at least partial details for 16588 dogs in our database.

We want to expand this and have as much information about as many dogs both present and past as possible and for this we need your help whether you are a Newfoundland Club member or not. There are no charges involved with either inclusion in or use of this database.

Please use the search page to look for any dog you may know about. if the information is incomplete, inaccurate or if the dog is missing from the database, then let us know by emailing and telling us as much detail as you can. Your update will not appear immediately because we will have to verify it, probably by contacting you directly. We can accept emailed scanned copied of test results but again we will need to further verify them to ensure accuracy.

The ultimate aim is to have as much health and pedigree related information as possible so that anyone who is interested can select an individual dog and get a pedigree for it with information for it and as many of its ancestors as possible.

The search page can be used to show health results we hold for all dogs of a particular affix by selecting that affix.

The health related data we currently have is:

Heart:

There are 2027 auscultation (stethoscope) test resullts and 661 echo-Doppler results.

Hip Scoring:

There are Hip Scores for 3154 dogs.

Elbow Scoring:

There are Elbow Scores for 428 dogs.

Cystinuria Testing:

There are Cystinuria Results for 148 dogs.

The Newfoundland Club are very pleased to be one of the three representative Breed Clubs in the UK who together with the Northern Newfoundland Club and the Southern Newfoundland Club jointly support the single health database now online at www.newfoundlandhealthdata.org.uk.
